Cadet Training Programme

We can offer you one of the best Cadet Training Programmes in the UK. Every year we recruit select individuals and put them through the Cadet Training Programme. It’s hard work but the rewards are truly excellent – the start of a career at sea, anywhere in the world (available to UK Passport Holders only).

Academic Entry Requirements

Candidates holding GSCE or SCE Standard Grade qualifications
Candidates must hold at least Physics (or Combined Science), English (or subject using English) and at least 2 other subjects at Grades A-C (GCSE's) or Grades 1-3 (Standard Grades). You must also have passed Mathematics at Grade B (GCSE) or Grade 2 (Standard Grade).

Candidates holding A-Levels/Highers qualifications
Candidates entering with A-Levels/Highers must hold the core subjects referred to above at either GCSE/SCE Standard Grade or A-Level/Higher or hold equivalent qualifications.

Other Training Programmes Leading to Officer Qualifications
A range of previous qualifications and experience may be considered, including shore based engineering studies, relevant marine diplomas and degrees, engineering apprenticeships and marine experience in The Services.
