As part of our ‘Meet the Team’ series, we’re excited to introduce the incredible people behind North Star who help drive our success across the business. Steve Myers is based in the North East of England near the Port of Tyne where our Dogger Bank Wind Farm vessels operate from, approximately halfway between the Lowestoft and Aberdeen offices. Perfectly situated to work from our Grampian SOV’s. From his early days as a cadet to helping lead one of the most exciting offshore wind projects in Europe, Steve’s story is one of passion, purpose and perfect timing.
North Star has become the first organisation in the world to have ships achieve Lloyd’s Register’s Cyber Resilience classification, in line with mandatory International Association of Classification Societies (IACS) standards implemented for all newbuilds from 1 July 2024.
From a young apprentice stepping aboard his uncle’s vessel for the first time to leading some of North Star’s most ambitious projects, Michael’s journey through the maritime industry is a testament to his dedication, ambition and adaptability. His work spans continents, time-zones and an ever-evolving industry and his story is one of hard work, leadership and a deep-seated passion for the maritime world – one that continues to shape the future of North Star.
